Bill.com Named Winner of the Prestigious Red Herring Global 100 Award
Palo Alto, CA, January 21, 2010 — Bill.com announced today it has been selected as a winner of Red Herring's Global 100 award, a prestigious list honoring the year's most promising private technology ventures from around the world. Red Herring last Friday announced its Global 100 award in recognition of the leading private companies from North America, Europe, and Asia, celebrating these startups' innovations and technologies across their respective industries.
Red Herring's Global 100 list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Google, Yahoo, Skype, Netscape, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay would change the way we live and work.
"Choosing the best out of the previous three years was by no means a small feat," said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed down our list from 1,200 potential companies to 200 finalists. Trying to get it down to 100 companies was a task upon itself. The top 100 companies who were chosen should be extremely proud, the competition was difficult."
Red Herring's editorial staff evaluated the companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration. This assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers, allowing Red Herring to see past the "buzz" and make the list an invaluable instrument of discovery and advocacy for the greatest business opportunities from around the world.
"We are thrilled to be named a winner of this prestigious award," said René Lacerte, CEO and founder of Bill.com. "It gives us great satisfaction that over the last year we have been able to help so many small and mid-sized businesses and accounting firms fundamentally change the way they manage finances, saving them time and money in such difficult economic times. And it is very exciting when organization's such as the Red Herring recognize the hard work and innovation that made that possible."

About Bill.com
Bill.com is an on-demand accounts payable application for CPAs and small and midsized businesses. Bill.com users can receive, route and pay invoices electronically — they never have to touch a paper bill again — resulting in time and cost savings to finance personnel of over 50% versus manual accounts payable and check writing processes. Invoices are emailed, scanned or faxed into the Bill.com service. Digital images of invoices are then routed electronically for approval, ensuring a complete audit trail and eliminating lost or mishandled paper. Users can access digitized supporting documents such as current and past bill images, cleared check images and contracts, at every step in the process, from anywhere, at any time, over the Internet. Bill.com handles check printing and mailing as well as electronic payments, and uses enterprise-class fraud protections that are impractical for small and midsized businesses to implement on their own. Bill.com integrates with popular desktop and on-demand accounting packages, ensuring consistency of financial data and streamlined financial planning, reporting and audit activities. Bill.com has received numerous awards including a 2009 Innovation Award from CPA Technology Advisor, and a 4-star rating from PC Magazine.
