Bill.com CEO Recognized as Industry Leader

October 5, 2009

PALO ALTO, CA -  Bill.com, the online bill management and payment leader, today announced that founder and CEO René Lacerte has been named to the Accounting Today list of "Top 100 Most Influential People" in the accounting profession.  Lacerte was recognized by the editors at Accounting Today for the key role he's played in advancing the use of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) financial applications by accounting firms and small businesses.

"Long a prominent figure, Lacerte has made two big splashes recently with the rollout of his online bill payment solution, Bill.com - and its partnership with CPA2BIZ to bring it to accountants - and with the sale of his online payroll service, Paycycle, to Intuit this summer," according to Accounting Today.

Lacerte is a long-time accounting and financial software industry executive and entrepreneur who started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving on to Intuit (NASDAQ: INTU).  Prior to Bill.com he co-founded America's largest online payroll company, PayCycle, which Intuit acquired earlier this year. Lacerte founded Bill.com in 2006 to revolutionize the way accountants help clients manage and pay bills using paperless, highly efficient processes that bridge the gap between their accounting software and their banks.  Using Bill.com, firms and clients are reporting over 50% savings in the time and cost of managing and paying bills. Bill.com has earned several industry recognitions including a 2009 CPA Technology Advisor Accounting and Tax Innovation Award and a 2009 Awesome Add-on Award from The Sleeter Group.

Under René's leadership Bill.com partnered with CPA2Biz, a subsidiary of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), to bring Bill.com to the accounting profession.  This pioneering partnership has helped streamline bill payment process for firms and clients of all sizes, including several of the country's largest accounting firms.

The Accounting Today "Top 100 Most Influential People" list includes CPAs, attorneys, regulators, educators and vendors who exemplify leadership and influence in the accounting field.  Bill.com has partnered with, worked with, and includes amongst its advisors several persons named to this year's list including Erik Asgeirsson, CEO at CPA2Biz; Mike Braun, CEO at Intacct; Randy Johnston, executive vice president at Network Management Group and K2 Enterprises; Teresa Mackintosh, SVP Core Market, Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting; Barry Melancon, President and CEO, AICPA; Doug Sleeter, founder of The Sleeter Group; Brad Smith, President and CEO of Intuit; and Jennifer Wilson, Co-founder and Owner, Convergence Coaching.
