Eric Chan

Eric Chan is the Chief Technology Officer at BILL, where he leads the company's AI platform strategy and engineering organization. Eric is BILL's founding engineer and first CTO, and has served on the engineering executive team for nearly 20 years, most recently as Distinguished Engineering Fellow. He joined BILL when the company had fewer than ten employees, helping architect and scale the platform from startup into a leading public fintech company.

Prior to BILL, Eric was one of the early engineers at Salesforce, where he contributed to the development and scaling of the Service Cloud platform during the company’s growth from emerging startup to public enterprise software leader,also co-authoring multiple patents along the way.

Throughout his career, Eric has focused on building scalable, customer-focused software products and helping companies navigate periods of rapid growth and technical scale. He has also advised a number of technology and education startups, including XPrep Learning Solutions, Okta, and CloudWords.

Eric holds a B.A. in Computer Science from University of California, Berkeley.
